Dakar 2026
The sixth participation of Tiziano Internò and Rally POV, the first in Ultra Dakar mode.
The Ultra Dakar project
On the 40th anniversary of Thierry Sabine's death, Tiziano wanted to try to bring back the original spirit of the first Paris-Dakars: a departure from Italy to reach Paris, a symbolic passage by the Eiffel Tower, then on to the official Dakar boarding in Barcelona along mule tracks and snowy trails.
To spice up the challenge, a goal that is "simple" only on paper: keep racing in the Malle Moto class, without assistance, but also give up the iconic red crate. All the tools and spares for two weeks of adventure had to travel inside the bags on the bike, just as the pioneers did in the Eighties.
This is what Ultra Dakar was: bringing the race back to its roots, turning every kilometre and every stage into a chapter of a great journey, even before a competition.
Ultra Dakar was also covered by a report on Italia 1.
A Dakar with the "Original" spirit
From the sporting point of view, the 2026 Dakar was the best performance of Tiziano Internò's career: 37th overall among the bikes and 8th in the Original by Motul class, at the end of two very hard weeks of sand, stones and above all navigation.
But the most significant result came outside the standings: the Sportsmanship Trophy as ambassador of the spirit of the Dakar, received for stopping to rescue Bradley Cox during stage 7 and then towing him for 170 km. A gesture that sums up the Ultra Dakar philosophy: an extreme challenge against fatigue, but also a deeply human journey, made of sharing, mutual respect and gestures worth more than any special-stage time.

The synergy with ASO
The 2026 Dakar marked a further step forward in the collaboration between Rally POV and the organiser. Inside the official "Dakar Heroes" programme, many of Tiziano's onboard clips were used to show navigation and life in the special stage live, bringing the point of view of an Original rider to the global channels of the race.
The synergy also took shape in collaborative reels and in a video portrait dedicated to his journey. This editorial alliance strengthened the role of Rally POV: on one side telling the Dakar in Italian to its own community, on the other contributing authentic content to the official channels of the race, generating shared value for ASO, partners and audience.
